[edit] Marketing the Open Source Homelessness Directory
Shelter, HomelessLondon.org.uk, HB accepted.co.uk and Open.gov.uk, etc etc all have large resources of listings related to information about Homelessness Services.
So why does the Market need another one? Because:
- Existing solutions are not comprehensive, updated or 'cared for' enough
- Therefore it's time for an open source and instantly updated solution
- Existing solutions rely on employees and govt/charitable funding to produce their listings
- Therefore our solution relies on volunteers, service users and providers themselves
- Existing solutions are incredibly difficult to filter through regarding matching a users personal circumstances to the limitations of the various services
- Therefore our solution proposes a short workflow taking a service users anonymous yet personal data to produce listings that are actually relevant.
- This saves organisations time, service users time, and also allows a more visual and statistic led review of what is working in the "sector" and what isn't.
- Therefore our solution proposes a short workflow taking a service users anonymous yet personal data to produce listings that are actually relevant.
- Existing solutions from Governmental and Charitable Orgs do not encourage debate, reviews and depth of information.
- Our solution encourages comment, criticism and reviews of the thousands of services without complicating the accessibility to the most critical information regarding these services.
- Existing solutions produce despondency and resignation on the part of service users whom see lots of organisations trying to help the situation in the sector, but whom will not cater to them, due to not speaking swahili, being under 25, or having a local connection etc.
- Our solution joins up the political and the practical, encouraging action and involvement for frustrated service users or potential users showing them those departments and persons whomat any point in time are responsible for the situation in thier sub-jurisdiction.
